“I came from a situation that some might call hopeless. At the age of 13, as I began my secondary school studies, my beauty, misuse of time, desire for fame, free gifts and car rides, isolation, and bad peer influences led me to take a wrong path. I began to have sex with multiple partners, which led to smoking, alcohol, drugs, pornography, and then to prostitution. I was suffering, lost, and without hope until a new message came to me. A team came to me with a message of chastity, and I allowed the power of Christ to change my heart. I made a commitment to chastity. With Christ, it is never too late for us. He is, as we say in Uganda, a God of second chance. My name is Scovia, and this is my story.” The accompanied picture is Scovia, now a UCE team member, traveling with fellow UCE team member Nevaless to a remote school to give a UCE outreach in Uganda.
“…I would like to particularly thank Universal Chastity Education (UCE) for everything you have done for me… I can proudly say UCE has contributed greatly to my life. I made my UCE commitment in 2009, began volunteering and then became a team member. I became an engineer, …at that time I became too mechanical. With love and courage you … trained me to become a counselor, mentor, motivational speaker, public speaker, writer and so much more! In short, I am a ‘semi-UCE content’ Engineer. UCE positively affected my speaking style, professional activities, leadership. I am not perfect, yet I am not sure if I could have made it in this way without UCE. Your faith in me is extraordinary. Now I am married to a beautiful lady, a lawyer, yet you were there with me. God has answered my prayers, He gave me what I dreamed of, and I can announce today that chastity pays! Thank you very much for everything. Even the Marriage Mass was lead by UCE priests, Fr Aidan Ulungi & Fr Protas Chelula. I pray for unmarried youth to know that abstinence is achievable. They have to do their part then leave the rest to God. He will surprise them and won’t disappoint them!…” ~Herman Nguki Accompanied picture is Mr. & Mrs. Herman Nguki on their wedding day, June 1st, 2019.
”I never knew that there is an organization doing such good work. The situation in our schools is not good. The number of student dropouts due to pregnancies is high… Most of them have no education on how to defend themselves against premarital sex temptations. It sometimes happens where parents refuse to show cooperation to the police or court once information about who impregnated their daughter is needed. They know everything but they pretend not to be aware of anything either because of corruption or being happy that a pregnant student can get married and the family will benefit from the ‘bride price.’ In short we need this education frequently to our students…. Also I will talk to the head of schools so that on some days Herman (UCE team member who is working in the region) will be getting some time during morning assembly sessions to talk to students about the chastity message. Also I will send the report to the Municipal Security and Safety Council where the District Commissioner will also be notified about this. I am sure she will be very happy. Thank you very much for your time and such a healing message to our students.” Municipal Secondary Education Officer, Ms Enelia Lutungulu, after UCE outreaches in Katavi region (Tanzania). “When the UCE Team started deliberating at our school, I thought they were wasting time. However, when they proceeded with their talks something came into my mind telling me to first put my relationship aside and concentrate on my books. It took me 30 minutes contemplating on giving up my relationship, and then abstain? Can I live sincerely without having sex? After the 30 minutes of meditation, I stood up, picked a card, and signed it. I was still doubtful whether I would manage to leave my boyfriend and concentrate on my studies. Thereafter I asked God to help me. I started reading my books. Last term I was ranked 5th out of 100 students, up from being the last. I thank God and UCE for this, I therefore urge every person to first concentrate on the target goals. I am now strong, firm and hopeful that one day I shall become a lawyer. Congratulation UCE. Everyone who knew me and my sexual behavior is wondering and asking me whether I am the same person or not. They could not believe I can live without having sex. ~Biira Silvia, Mutanywana SS, Uganda
