By Nibigira Rukundo Trinita, Muyinga, Burundi (January 2014)- My name is Rukundo Trinita. I am 27 years old. I signed the UCE Chastity Card in 2006, during the first outreaches of UCE, in the southern region of Burundi, Makamba. I have kept the promise. During my university studies in Bujumbura, I met Mr. Salomon Nibigira, who had signed his chastity card in 2008 during an outreach in the far away northern region of the country.
When he applied for engagement towards our future life together, I discovered that he was the right person that God had set apart for me. We were married in Bujumbura on December 28, 2013 in Nyakabiga Anglican Church surrounded by our parents and many of our friends including the whole UCE team from Makamba. We felt very much honored. We moved the following day to Muyinga (very far north) where my husband is employed as an assistant to the Attorney General in Muyinga.
I am volunteering to build the capacities of the UCE Chastity Clubs created in the secondary schools here. I promise to do my best to let UCE be known and inject changes into the many young people in this northern part of Burundi. Keep praying for our new home. May God bless you all.
